CEPL is essentially a brain child of Mr. Vivek Hegdekatte who is a post graduate in Refrigeration & Heat transfer. & is having more than 40 years of experience in the related field. He had worked in Godrej, Mumbai & was maintenance Manager for Reliability testing Laboratory at BEL, Bangalore for 12 years. He was looking after all reliability testing chambers including walk in test chambers of size 5mtX 10mts X 5 mts.

Vivek Hegdekatte in 1987 started Comet Environs at Peenya to manufacture environmental reliability test chambers & they have suppliers of more than 300 chambers to practically who & who in India.

Available test facilities in CEPL are.

The test equipmets comply various environmental test specification like JSS 55555, JSS50101, MILSTD 810, MIL STD 202, DEF133, DEF 00-35, BS2011, IEC 60068, U2106, ASTM, EIA-364, JESD22 RTC-DO-160, SAE standards etc. Exact complying standards has been given in equipment details. and in addition a modern components testing laboratory & life testing laboratory have also been established.

The entire complex is having 4 separate hangers and covering a floor area of 2000 sq. meters.

Ground floor hanger has vibration test equipment, sand & dust chambers, salt spray chambers, rain test chambers and immersion test chambers.

First floor hanger has rapid thermal test chamber, climate test chamber, high temperature test chamber, thermal shock test chamber and CATH chamber.

In another building ground floor has insulator testing thermo mechanical test chamber, thermal shock test chambers & high voltage testing chamber.

Walk-in chamber is in separate hanger so as to provide direct entry of car & other big euipments can directly go inside.

Each test equipment has been provided with testing table having uninterrupted 24 volts DC power supply & sockets for 230 volts AC. Also copper strip grounding is provided to all the test chambers.

CEPL has tested & calibrated all the testing equipments from reliable testing agency traceable to national Physical Lab. We are in the process of obtaining NABL accreditation.
